Midnight Celebrations - Kuroko Tetsuya x Reader

The expressionless male walked silently home. Loneliness filled him, but he successfully hid it. Usually you, his girlfriend would be hand-in-hand with him, sharing occasional pecks on the cheeks as you both make your way to your house and kiss each other goodbye. But unfortunately, you declined his offer since she was busy, but reassured the boy that she’ll surely make it up to him the next day.

It’s not a mystery to Kuroko that his very own birthday was tomorrow so he thought that maybe you just needed to buy a last minute gift for him or something. He didn't mind nonetheless of what you give to him, he’ll love it with all his heart like how he treats you.

Finally reaching his home, he sighed . He missed the way your warm hand would complete the emptiness of his hand.

His hand made it’s way to turn the doorknob. ‘No one’s home’ he thought, he knew his parents were out at the moment. They were too busy to even spend time with their son who’s birthday was tomorrow.

Today was a long day and Kuroko just wanted to get it over with. So he headed to the bathroom to take a relaxing bath then head to his bedroom and just rest and sleep, not even bothering to eat. He lost his appetite when you declined his offer to walk you home.

As the night grew late, his sleep got interrupted by a loud ringing that came from his phone. Yawning as he rubbed the sleep off his eyes, noticing that midnight had already stuck which meant it was his birthday. He picked up the phone, not noticing who it was.

“U-um hey Tetsuya, can you please open the door...? It’s freezing out here..” his body shot up from the distressed voice you gave. He stumbled on his feet but quickly got to his door and without hesitation, he opened his door to be greeted by a sheepishly smile from his girlfriend.

His shocked expression melted into a concerned look, pulling the girl into a loving embrace, warming her in the process. You wore a coat and a scarf around your neck. You were too excited to meet with your boyfriend that you forgot your mittens in your hurry.

They both separated and Kuroko’s warm hands cupped your cheeks, staring into your eyes deeply and capturing you in a sweet and passionate kiss. Your heart thumping hard against your chest, a tingly feeling you felt as you both shared your kiss.

Releasing from the kiss, you pressed your forehead on his and smiled lovingly at him, “Happy Birthday” you whispered at him, giving him a short kiss. He gave you an enigmatic smile of his and holding your cold hands and warming it up.

He looked out the door with you by his side and was surprised to see his teammates from Seirin and also from his former school, Teiko.
There, standing in the middle was Kagami’s outstretched hand holding out the birthday boy’s cake. His candle illuminated the darkness of his street and a banner was held up high by his 2 former teammates, Midorima Shinataro and the purple giant Murasakibara Atsushi that had “Happy Birthday” written on it.

Eyes widen at the surprise but appreciated the time they give just to celebrate his birthday. Slowly walking towards them and in front of the cake. Kuroko closed his sky blue eyes and made a short wish and proceeded to blow out the candles, earning cheers and claps from everyone.

They all went to Kuroko, ruffling his hair and pulling him for a hug. His wide smile was plastered on his face and thanked them for all the trouble. And lastly, Kuroko stared into his girlfriends eyes who returned the loving expression he gave her and joined him with group inside his house to continue the celebration.
